In this article we are going to take a quick peek at some of the most popular meditation techniques for beginners, and show you how to you can quickly and easily transform your consciousness and enter the magical mystery beyond, and within - in mere moments!
First of all, there are many, many different meditation techniques that all promise the same great results and benefits - they all simply take different roads to get to the same place. Many beginners will practice Transcendental meditation - or mantra meditation to entrain the brain to resonate on one simple thing (in this case a word) that repeated enough in a focused state of mind, will eventually open the pathways into a transformative experience of self. Several of the Judeo/Christian meditation models share the same basic approach, and all are viable and effective ways for the beginner to get started quickly.
There are other more complex models as well - Vipassana meditation for example is a popular Buddhist meditation practice designed to facilitate Wisdom and Insight and is practiced throughout the world by novices and advanced mediators as well. In my experience, however, while a very powerful technique, it can often take many years for a newbie Vipassana practitioner to derive the intended benefits, as many of our minds are simply not yet ready to "observe" ourselves in such an intensely insightful fashion.
In my opinion, the most powerful, transformational and blissful way to meditate for a beginner is to simply use audio cues - be they in the form of a guided meditation, or using sound technologies designed to "entrain the brain" into an altered state of consciousness. These have become very popular for their power, with some saying even new meditators are having similar experiences to those of long term Zen monks. Wow!
Regardless of you start, simply get started! Meditation WILL change your life for the better, but only if you begin. And there is never a better time than NOW!
